Effectivecommunication is crucial to ensure that the employees perform theirnecessary functions to achieve the business goals and objectives(McShane &amp Von Glinow, 2013). Communication can be either verbalor non-verbal. Verbal communication media such as electronic mailsare easy to use, and the delivery is very fast. Non-verbalcommunications include facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, thetone of voice, and posture. Both methods of communication arerelatively cheap as they do not require the use of writing materialsuch as paper (McShane &amp Von Glinow, 2013). Nonverbalcommunication helps to avoid the inaccuracies of the verbalcommunication. However, like verbal communication, nonverbal messagesare also prone to misinterpretations. Geographical barriers unlike inthe nonverbal messages do not limit verbal communication where aperson has to be in close contact with the sender (McShane &amp VonGlinow, 2013).

Inverbal communication, the sender can give the exact and precisemessage they intend the receiver to get (McShane &amp Von Glinow,2013). Conversely, nonverbal communication is prone to vagueness andimprecise words. Additionally, verbal communication is terminated theminute the speaker finishes delivering the message. Thus, it deliversthe message immediately where the receiver can send an instantfeedback (McShane &amp Von Glinow, 2013). On the other hand, thenonverbal communication continues even after the verbal conversationis over. Besides, it only meant to help the listener understand thefeelings and emotions of the sender without necessarily giving themfeedback.

Bothmodes of communications are used on a daily basis at work, schools,and typical conversations. For example, in an organization, a groupof employees can decide to have an informal meeting to discuss newideas on how to solve the challenges they encounter regularly. Themeeting will require the use of verbal communication to articulatedifferent issues. Thus, the communication will be fast, and anindividual can seek clarification in areas they do not understand.However, nonverbal communication will help an employee determine ifthe colleagues are in agreement with his or her ideas. Besides, itshows how feasible the other employees perceive those options to be.Nonetheless, both forms are prone to misinterpretation, as anemployee may understand an entirely different message from what thespeaker intended (McShane &amp Von Glinow, 2013). Then again, asthey attempt to read into the facial expression and gestures, theymay misinterpret the gestures and signs.
